This painting was composed as an imaginary scene using slides of my own and photos from research. The twin fawns were birthed in August as late offspring. It is fall and the vegetation is turning. The buck has rubbed the fuzzy layer from his antlers and the sun is breaking beams through the nearly leafless deciduous maples. This painting was done to be a pair to the Mabry Mill, which also wears fall foliage.
