Students are responsible for bringing the correct materials for the type of class instruction they are receiving, which can be purchased at the Hobby Lobby where group classes are held. The following is a list of materials that students will need for the various types of art lessons we offer:

Pastels

  • Beginner’s soft pastels box
  • Colored pastel paper pad
  • Grumbacher color wheel

Pen & Ink

  • Fine-point permanent ink pens
  • Fine drawing paper
  • 2B & HB pencils
  • FaberCastell pink pearl eraser or Staedtler white eraser
  • Plastic right triangle
  • Clear plastic ruler
  • #6 and assorted watercolor brushes
  • Container for rinse water
  • Painting subjects

Drawing

  • Newsprint pad
  • HB, 2B, & 5 or 6B pencils
  • Pink eraser
  • Ruler

Collage

  • Assorted colored tissues
  • Watercolor pad
  • Crinkled art foil
  • Flat acrylic bristle brush (1-inch)
  • Container for rinse water
  • Acrylic varnish

Watercolors

  • Assorted watercolor paints, preferably Winsor Newton
  • Assorted brushes including rounds and flats ½ to 1 inch width
  • Plastic WC palette
  • Container for rinse water
  • Paper towels
  • Watercolor pad or 140lb. single WC sheets
